Every year people throughout the country gather to watch fireworks light up the night sky on the 4th of July in honor of our nation’s birth. Colorado has an incredible fireworks selection throughout the state, complimented by fun family festivities to enjoy before the show. Swingle has picked some of the best places to celebrate the 4th of July in Colorado.
Fort Collins
Where: City Park over Sheldon Lake
When: 7:30AM
Fort Collins is sure to keep everyone busy throughout the 4th of July. Start the day off with the Annual FireKracker 5k at 7:30AM in City Park. Once you finish, head on over to the Avery House to enjoy games and live music before the stunning firework display at Sheldon Lake starting at 9:35PM.
Estes Park
Where:Lake Estes
When: 7AM
Kick off Independence Day in Estes Park with a good old-fashioned pancake breakfast at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church. During the day, there will be plenty to do including a car show, Estes Village Band, and of course hiking, biking, and paddle boating. As night falls, fireworks will explode over Lake Estes at 9:30PM.
Firestone
Where: Miners Park
When: 7AM
The 14th annual 4th at Firestone will keep you and your family entertained all day long. Start your day off with American Legion Auxiliary pancake breakfast followed by a festive parade to celebrate America’s birthday. From 6-10PM enjoy music from, Tumbling Dice, Home Slice, and others before the spectacular fireworks show over Saddleback Golf Club.
Arvada
Where: Lutz/Stenger Sports Complex
When: 4PM
Spend an evening in Arvada enjoying free entertainment and a variety of cuisines from area food trucks, while waiting for the firework show to cap off the evening. This year enjoy live music along with face painting, bounce houses, and even human hamster balls.
Downtown Denver
Where: Sports Authority Field at Mile High
When: 6:30PM
Cheer on the Denver Outlaws Lacrosse team while they host the Florida Launch for the annual Mile High 4th of July Celebration. A spectacular firework show follows the game.
Aurora
Where: Aurora Municipal Center Great Lawn
When: 6-10PM
The city of Aurora is known for their annual 4th of July display. Before the fireworks show enjoy delicious food, crafts, and live music.
Parker
Where: Salisbury Park
When: 6-10PM
Join the Town of Parker for some of the best fireworks. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, inflatable activities, and even a climbing wall before the fireworks show begins. Food will be available along with patriotic music from Six Million Dollar Band.
