The effects of emerald ash borer on Colorado’s urban forests will be felt for generations to come. The good news is, we can protect our trees, if we’re informed and proactive.
Find out if you have an ash tree below…
1. Does the tree have compound leaves with 5 to 11 leaflets?
2. Are the branches and buds in pairs directly across from each other (opposite branching)?
3. Have you seen paddle shaped seed pods (seeds are on female ash trees)?
4. What’s the bark look like? Mature bark has diamond-shaped ridges.
