Anna Jarvis is often credited with creating the holiday we celebrate every second Sunday in May – Mother’s Day.
Becoming an official US holiday back in 1914, Jarvis conceived the holiday as a way of honoring the sacrifices her mother and mothers all across the country continually made for the sake of their children.
No gift has become more synonymous with Mother’s Day celebrations than a beautiful bouquet of roses, or a bountiful plant filled with colorful, budding flowers.
The Denver Botanic Gardens is your shopping destination for your Mother’s Day celebration with its annual Spring Plant Sale.
The event features more than ten planting divisions including: Aquatics, Annuals, Container Planting, Fruits/Berries/Veggies, Grown at the Gardens, Hanging Baskets, Herbs, Houseplants, Mixed Succulents, Perennials, Plant Select, Rock Alpine/Bonsai, Roses, Summer Bulbs and Water-Smart.
DBG’s resident horticulturists will be available on-site to help you choose the right plant for your outdoor environmental conditions.
